Science Ethics

Science under the microscope

Ethical questions can arise over the nature of science and the way scientists work.

For instance:

  • How do scientists produce evidence for a theory?
  • What pressures do they work under?
  • Can scientists influence their results? Do they? Should they?
  • How much confidence can we have in their findings?
  • What is the probability that their latest theory is correct?

These pages unpick some of these issues for you.
